What we do Industries

Defense

Defense is one of the economic sectors that has gained the most prominence in recent times. Investment needs in this area have increased exponentially, as has the interest in having the strongest possible domestic industry in this field, and the intersections between defense itself and other related areas, such as cybersecurity, the protection of confidential information, energy autonomy, and the security of supply of certain essential goods and services.

At rēgula, we don't need to suddenly join the fever for the defense industry, because our lawyers have been deeply involved for years in advising companies in the sector, both Spanish and foreign, which we assist in the bidding and execution of several of the most complex and ambitious weapons systems supply programs.

Thus, we advise our clients on the contract award process, which is often subject to special restrictions in terms of competition, as well as compliance with very specific requirements regarding confidentiality and information security; and also on contract execution, where delays, rescheduling, and changes in the scope of the program are common as the weapons system develops.

We are also experts in the private contractual relationships underlying the program, particularly regarding the prime contractor's relationship with suppliers whose participation is absolutely necessary to fulfill the contract with the Administration. We participate in the negotiation and execution of subcontracts for the supply and manufacture of components, technology transfer agreements, and licensing agreements, among others.

We also participate in the management of procedures for granting, renewing, suspending, and revoking import and export licenses for defense and dual-use material, which are essential for proper program management.
