In the latest edition of Lexology Panoramic –Competition in Digital Markets 2027–, Javier Pérez and Miguel González examine the main competition law issues shaping the digital economy in Spain, from the applicable legal and regulatory framework –including the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and the Digital Services Act (DSA)– to the CNMC’s enforcement activity in areas such as algorithms and pricing, online sales restrictions, geoblocking, digital advertising, abuse of dominance and merger control.

The report also highlights the CNMC’s increasingly active approach to digital markets, with recent proceedings involving platforms such as Booking.com, Google, Amazon and Apple, alongside closer cooperation with the European Commission. Javier and Miguel also look ahead to the key developments likely to shape enforcement in the coming years, including the growing potential for private enforcement of competition law in relation to conduct by major digital platforms.
